chewy chocolate chip cookie fail

oooookkkaaayyy...for awhile I've been on a quest for a the perfect chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe. I heard someone recommend this recipe from Crisco.

They turned out super pretty but they're not chewy!

I baked them for 10 minutes, then left them in for another minute and a half - two minutes (recipe specifies 10-12). But I should have purposely under baked them. They are tasty so I think I need to try again and bake them 10 minutes only!

p.s. if you care to try it, it prints kind of funny. it looked like it wanted me to add twice as much crisco on the printed page! you only need 3/4 cup of crisco!

crochet for puppy

I'm a little behind on my craft blogging, but first things first...

Earlier this month I finished a doggie sweater for my parent's cairn terrier, Bonnie. and here she is!



I had made the pattern before from this book and it turned out okay, but was a little small on her! So I increased the stitches and rows not especially sure what I was going to get and this is how it turn out. it might be a little long for her from the neck to the arm holes but we just roll the collar down a little and she's fine.

She actually likes it too! We don't humanize the dog too much, but she really happens to like wearing her sweaters...weirdo...

2010 yarn stash

here it is.



a few months ago i moved all of my yarn from my closet to the book shelf so i would see it and crochet it all into things. i was inspired by candace's book shelf yarn stash.

i have plans for a lot of it...but its slow going... any good left over yarn crochet projects are welcome...
